Dougan, who served as Chief Education Officer for five years, has been promoted to the post of Cabinet Secretary. She replaces Bernard Morgan, who has gone on pre-retirement leave.

The post of Chief Education Officer will be filled by Gilchrist, in an acting capacity. Prior to her new appointment she held the post of Local Registrar in the Ministry of Education.
