Justice Saunders will speak on the topic: “What is a Referendum?” President of Long Island / St.Vincent Partners of the Americas Nelcia Hazell says the topic is a relevant and pertinent one in view of the impending constitutional referendum which is scheduled to take place here on November 25th. She notes that while there is considerable debate on the constitution itself, not much focus has been given to the whole question of what a referendum really entails.

The general meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 24, at the UWI Open Campus at Richmond Hill from 7.00 p.m. Partners is reminding its membership as well as other interested members of the public to attend and be a part of this important discourse.

Partners of the Americas was inspired by President John F. Kennedy, who in 1963 launched the Alliance for Progress, a program of government-to-government economic cooperation across the Western Hemisphere. Partners comprises a network of partnerships working as citizen volunteers in Latin America, the Caribbean and the US to improve the lives of people across the hemisphere. The local chapter was launched in St. Vincent and the Grenadines over twenty-five years ago by Colonel S Anderson.
