“Everything went well,” said Roselle, speaking to Searchlight from Trinidad. She said the surgery started at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday June 2, and took about five hours to complete. According to Roselle, the surgeons told her that there were no complications and the surgery went well.

The relieved mother also extended gratitude to those who have contributed to Rodney in any way. “I would just like to thank all those who prayed for us,” she added. Both father and son are currently resting at the Eric Williams Medical Centre. Roselle and Rodney will remain in Trinidad for three to four months for Rodney to receive special medical care to help his body adjust to his new kidney. His father, however, is expected to return to St. Vincent in four to six weeks time.(OS)
