SVG to discuss draft model Consumer Protection Bill

Efforts at introducing new consumer protection legislation to St. Vincent and the Grenadines are being taken a step further this week.{{more}}

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade has invited a number of stakeholders in the public and private sector, to a sensitisation seminar on the draft model Consumer Protection Bill to discuss the various provisions of the Bill.

Representatives of the CARICOM Secretariat, in conjunction with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, are conducting the seminar, which takes place yesterday and today, Friday, May 29 from 9.00 a.m. daily, at the Ministry’s Conference Room.

The proposed Consumer Protection Legislation is aimed at providing and promoting consumer interests, in relation to the supply of goods and provision of services, in order to ensure protection of life, health and safety of consumers.
