On March 9, 2009, the EHSM young leaders launched their programme at the school. The students, teachers, and guests were treated to a spectacular afternoon of poetry, songs, drama and a very informative speech by Renson Humphrey, the president. He highlighted some of the global challenges facing our world, explained some of the causes and offered some solutions to these problems. Samuel Harry, a representative of the Forestry Division, spoke to the students on a series of topics relating to the Green Revolution. The programme climaxed with the planting of a tree in the school yard.

On Friday, March 20, the young leaders began their education programme at the Richland Park Primary School. They continued this programme at the Cane End and Marriaqua Government Schools on March 23rd and 24th, respectively. The programme was well received in all three schools and the students participated enthusiastically.

Over the next three weeks, the young leaders hope to embark upon several activities, including completion of an environmental audit which was started three weeks ago; conducting a cleanup campaign in the community on April 11, 2009; performing a jingle at all the radio stations; placing garbage bins in strategic area in the community; displaying billboards and posters in the community to sensitize the community on the importance of the green revolution.
