Telecommunications leader Digicel has once again shown that it is fully aware of the needs of its customers by rewarding them with prizes aimed at easing the financial squeeze.{{more}}

Last Tuesday, Digicel presented seven persons each with $500 credit on their post paid accounts, while three other persons received $100 credit, a free Nokia handset and an autographed West Indies Cricket Team shirt.

The prizes were handed over by Digicel’s Corporate Accounts Manager Brenda Barbour.

Ryan Charles, Karen Barrette, Kevin Weekes, David Charles, Warren Knights, Tony Sassine and Douglas Hazel all received $500 credit from Barbour, while Jackie Marques received $100 credit, with Randolph Roberts receiving a Nokia cell phone, and Lloyd Gunsam was presented with an autographed West Indies T-shirt.

Charles said he has been with Digicel since the telecommunications company’s entry into the St Vincent and the Grenadines market and described the service as, “ok”.

Barrette, too, has been with Digicel since inception and boasts of being one of Digicel’s first post paid customers.

“I’m happy to be getting something back after all this time, because I’ve been with the company from the start,” Barrette said.

Weekes, who is self-employed, commended Digicel for showing appreciation to its customers, stating he thinks the rewards given “are a good gesture”, while Charles, who is also a longstanding customer, thanked Digicel for “the kind consideration”.

Tony Sassine said he thinks it is good that the company has recognized and rewarded the customers, while Seaman Douglas Hazel rates Digicel service as good and says he is looking forward to a better deal on the roaming charges soon.

These seven winners were chosen after they paid their postpaid bill on time.

Marques, Roberts and Gunsam won their prizes in the ‘Stamp to win’ promotion.

Marques stated that she tops up her phone everyday, and Roberts, who owns a catering business, says he “feels good to have won the handset”.

Cricket enthusiast Lloyd Gunsam said while he prefers to play the game rather than look at it, he was delighted to have won the autographed West Indies T-shirt, since it had the signature of his favourite player, Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

These three winners were chosen as part of Digicel’s 6th anniversary promotion ‘Stamp to Win’ which began on March 9th and ends on April 7th.

Every Digicel customer who tops up $15 or more, purchases a new handset or buys a SIM card from any authorized Digicel dealer, earns a stamp card, which is initialed.

After the card has six transactions recorded on it, customers are entered in a draw for a weekly prize. Weekly prizes include cricket merchandise and credit.

The Grand Prize draw is a trip for two to Union Island Easterval, and other prizes include Easterval Soca Monarch and J’ouvert tickets, a high end handset and $3000 cash.
