According to the report, economies that score well on the ease of dealing with construction permits tend to have rigorous yet expeditious and transparent permitting process.

In reacting to the news of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ number one position, acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Lands and Surveys, Physical Planning and Local Government Kenrick Glynn told the Agency for Public Information that it is an achievement that should make all Vincentians proud.

Acting Permanent Secretary Glynn said the Physical Planning Department must be congratulated for their hard work, as well as members of the Physical Planning and Development Board (the authority responsible for granting building permits and planning applications). Members of Vinlec and CWSA who continue to make sterling contributions must also be congratulated on this achievement, Glynn said.

The acting Permanent Secretary added that the Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Lands and Surveys, Physical Planning and Local Government will

continue to work hard to improve the processing of planning applications and to ensure that the building code and regulations are adhered to.
