Following the successful promotion of its ‘Live Free’ campaign late last year, in which three Vincentians were rewarded with thousands of dollars for the whole of 2009, Digicel started the year with making cash available to all of its pre-paid customers, and a number of persons have already benefited from Digicel’s generous offers.{{more}}

Digicel has now made available the opportunity for all of its pre-paid customers that top up $10 or more, the chance to walk away with $1,000, and the company recently made good on its promise when it handed over $16,000 to lucky winners, who now start the New Year with cash in hand.

Delson James, Elease Richardson, Calvert Williams, Sandra Grant, Juliet Horne, Caroline Rawlins, Angus Richards, Leroy Spencer, John Erjavec, Kenlyn Providence, Lucine Frederick, Clive Baptiste, Lucinda Pitt, Deneisha Delpesche, Joanne Layne and Otnell Douglas all collected $1,000 each from Digicel’s Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche, at the company’s corporate headquarters in the Sprott Brothers Building on Bay Street.

James, who journeyed from Bequia to collect his winnings, said that he was surprised, although he kept topping up his phone with the hope that he would win.

“This is a good refund,” the bartender quipped.

Green Hill resident Richardson said he, too, was also very grateful for the $1,000, which could play a part in her marriage, set to take place soon.

“A very good idea,” is how Grant described Digicel’s latest promotion, and thanked the telecommunications giant for its generosity.

It was the second time Fair Hall resident Juilet Horne, a Records Clerk at the Ministry of Transport and Works, was collecting something from Digicel, and made the point: “It’s all about savings this year”, after collecting her cash.

Caroline Rawlins, a retired school teacher, who hails from Barrouallie, described her winning as: “An answer to a prayer.”

Rawlins said she has been using Digicel’s service since inception and expressed confidence in the “excellent service” the telecommunications company has been providing.

Leroy Spencer is a Farmer from New Grounds and who said the cash he received from Digicel “will help to buy something”, while Lucine Frederick was just happy to be finally “getting something back”, and Community College Lecturer John Erjavec stated how he felt about Digicel’s service.

Digicel’s Marketing Manager, Juno DeRoche, thanked the winners, and revealed that Digicel will continue to provide its customers “with top quality products and great promotions designed to give back generously to the public.”
