Worrel, from Fond Cole in Dominica, was picked as the grand prize winner, in a draw that took place in St. Lucia and which was carried live throughout the 11 LIME territories on radio, television and on the Internet.

The majority of this country’s twelve finalists, along with LIME officials, well wishers and local media gathered at the Grenadine House in Kingstown to witness the draw, most with hopes that the winner would be present in the Hairouna conference room.

But the anticipation soon turned to disappointment when the announcers revealed the location and name of the US $1 Million(EC $2.67M) winner.

Chief Executive of LIME St. Vincent and the Grenadines Angus Steele, while speaking to SEARCHLIGHT after the draw, indicated that it was unfortunate that a Vincentian was not the lucky winner, but congratulated the Dominican for her fortune.

He said that his company was happy to make a millionaire out of a Caribbean national and thanked all who participated in the promotion.

Steele said that upcoming promotions are in the pipelines, which is part of his company’s continuing efforts to give back to its customers.

Although admitting that the two month old company, the offspring of Cable & Wireless, has not yet made a full transformation, the CEO indicated that the company is going good so far with new products and services for customers to look forward to. (JJ)
