Raphilia King, of Quick Cash, made the presentation to Mc Donald, 21, last Tuesday at Quick Cash’s office, in the presence of Minister of Culture and Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown, René Baptiste, and Quick Cash manager Joan Anderson.

Minister Baptiste thanked Quick Cash for their “act of kindness” and said that arrangements have been made to have Mc Donald’s home rebuilt.

Mc Donald’s two-bedroom plywood house was gutted by fire at around 7pm on Thursday, November 28, while he was at a nearby shop purchasing a tank of gas.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a candle.

Mc Donald, a labourer, shared the home with his girlfriend Veronica da Silva, his stepson Keonte, 6, and his two children Shaquente, 2, and Kereina, 1.

Quick Cash’s manager Joan Anderson said that her company was happy to assist. (KJ)
