Four mothers were given the opportunity to be treated like stars last week Thursday in the Courts “Treat your mom like a star campaign”.{{more}}

The women were given hair and face “make-overs” by leading stylists in the country.

The women’s flawless make up and trendy hair dos had persons gasping by their transformation. With bag loads of confidence, the four ladies strutted their stuff for the judges and audience to get a view of their new looks.

But it was one mother whose star shone brighter than the others. Marcia Sandy’s short hair cut and well applied make-up got the judges nod for number one. The smiling Sandy said that she is “very happy and it’s a new change for her”.

The reservation agent said that it was her aunt who was supposed to participate in the competition, but she did not want to come. Sandy said that she would definitely be keeping this new look. The Georgetown resident received facial beauty products for the best make-up and an Oster toaster for begin the overall winner.

Sandy’s make-up was done by Monique Stanley- Mills of Acute Cosmetics. Mills said she loves what she does, and “if I’m going to be rewarded, more power.” She said Marcia has beautiful eyes and she wanted to work them. Mills said they didn’t have a lot of time so they had to work very swiftly. She said, “I’m very happy with the results”. She thanked Yvette Welcome of Splitting Image for doing such a good job on Marcia’s hair. Mills received a $500 cash price.

Vernice Stowe won the best hair do. Her hair and make-up were done by Suzanne’s Hair Studio and Kismet Inc. She received a Concair curling iron.

Marketing Executive of Courts St Vincent, Alexis John, said that Courts wanted to ensure that the mothers get the ultimate experience. “Courts want to give back to all our valued customers,” he said.

The other two contestants were Monica Findlay, whose hair and make-up were done by Ella’s Unisex Beauty Salon, and Enleth Mathias, whose hair and make-up were done by Barnett Hair Fair.(VM)
