Toastmasters providing more training


Less than a month after undergoing training with District Governor Sonia Alexis, Achievers Toastmasters will be providing members with another opportunity to hone their speaking skills.{{more}}

The club has organized a Speech Contest for 29th March 2008 at the SVG Chamber of Industry and Commerce beginning promptly at 4:30 p.m. Patrons are asked kindly to be seated at 4:15 p.m. The Contest will have two parts: Prepared Speeches on any topic of the speaker’s choice and Impromptu Speeches on a single pre-selected topic.

President of the SVG Achievers Toastmasters Club Jacinta Thomas Elliot stated that “Our Club is fulfilling its mission in building the communication competencies of it members through these competitions.” She added that it also gives the public an opportunity to see the members at their best.

Winners of both categories of the contest will represent SVG at the Toastmasters regional speech contest at the District Conference in St. Maarten in May of this year.

Toastmasters International is a self development organization that focuses on developing the leadership and communication skills of members. There are over 10,000 Toastmaster Clubs across the globe. The organization has been in existence since 1924.
