JEMS donates to Lauders Primary


The Lauders Primary School is the latest recipient of the generosity of the JEMS New York Organization.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2008, the students received a quantity of sneakers, crayons and pencils.{{more}}

Speaking on behalf of the Organization, Bernadette Bristol, who is also a past student of the school, noted that she

believes strongly in giving back, hence her organization coming to the assistance of the school.

Expressing thanks on behalf of the school was Headtecher Marcia Peters, who stated that this contribution will go a very long way for both the parents and the teachers of the school. Also on hand to witness the handing over ceremony and expressing thanks on behalf of the Ministry of Education was Jacqueline Glasgow Browne acting Senior Education Officer with responsibility for primary schools.

While here the organization will also make donations to the St. Benedict Day Nursery, The Awakening Spiritual Baptist Church, along with four orphans from the Barrouallie community.

The donations were made possible through the generous assistance of Gideon “Fessie” York of Standard Shippers Inc., American Airlines Credit Union and the Comptroller of Customs. (SAC)
