Digicel sponsors SVGCC Sociology Club Inter-College debate



Telecommunications company Digicel has proudly supported the first ever SVG Community College Sociology Club Inter-College Debate.{{more}}

Describing the assistance given by the telecommunications company as a fantastic contribution, President of the Sociology Club, Jason Haynes, said that the over 100 members in the club have been working hard to put on the event.

Haynes pointed out that the finals topic which is; “The Government is Instrumental in Forcing Vincentian Women to be kept Pregnant and Barefooted” aims to sharpen the language skills of the speakers, foster unity among the colleges and address the issue of gender equality, while making the listeners think.

Meanwhile, Digicel’s Marketing Manager Juno De Roche said that the telecommunications company was proud to partner with the young brilliant minds of the Sociology Debate Club and she expressed hope that they would continue to impart their knowledge and ideas to others. De Roche also said, that with guidance and support, young people can reach far and that Digicel was pleased to make their debate a reality.

The Police Training School, School of Nursing and the SVG Community College will have three debaters from each of their institution for the final, which came off last night, Wednesday March 19 at the Methodist Church Hall from 8pm.
