Dead is 36-year-old Police Constable 692 Elisha Daniel.

Daniel, a member of the Force for the past eight years, is said to have been suffering from kidney problems and died in Trinidad in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Lenroy Brewster, whom Daniel worked with for about two years, described her as one with a zeal to deliver justice at all times.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and we will have to be strong in this time of mourning for the entire police force,” said Brewster.

The top cop went on to say that Daniel was a woman who knew where she wanted to go with her career as a police officer. He said that Daniel was the epitome of a detective who left no stone unturned.

During her tenure in the police force, Daniel worked on the beat before being transferred to the Colonaire Police Station, then finally to the Major Crimes Unit.

Other close colleagues within the force remembered PC Daniel as a hardworking, disciplined individual who always kept a smile on her face.

Daniel was also an avid netball player and has a 13-year-old son.

Her body is expected to arrive in the state today.

On January 19, 2008, Police Constable Gary Roberson died as a result of Asphyxiation.
