Special Agents Miguel Coais and Anna Batalla of the United States Secret Service, who are in the country to give evidence in a counterfeit case, are facilitating the workshop.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop this morning, Commissioner of Police Keith Miller commended the persons from the financial institutions, which included the Kingstown Co-operative Credit Union, the National Commercial Bank, Scotia Bank, and the General Employees’ Co-operative Credit Union, for taking advantage of the training.

Miller said the issue of counterfeit currency can cause significant damage to a country’s economy, and for that reason it is important for everyone to get involved in the fight against crime. “We have to be vigilant.

We are not going to allow criminals to intercept us” Commissioner Miller stated. (API)
