Adelphi wins six awards in Drama Festival

The Adelphi Secondary School took the lion’s share of the awards in the 4th annual Cable & Wireless Schools’ Drama Fest that concluded on Wednesday, November 28.{{more}}

The school captured six awards, including Best Lead Actor in the person of Jeremiah Simmons who played ‘James’; Best Supporting Actress, Limora Jacobs who played ‘Darcita’; Best Director; Best Stage Management; Best Production and Dramatist of the Festival, won by Jeremiah Simmons.

Kimorie Shearman of the St. Martin’s Secondary won the Best Supporting Actor playing ‘Selwyn Soldman’, while the Best Lead Actress title went to Afiyah Gurley of the Campden Park Secondary who played ‘Jennifer’.

The St. Martin’s Secondary School also won the award for Best Costumes, while the Best Make Up title went to the Girls’ High School. The Campden Park Secondary School received the award for Best Set, while the Bishop’s College Kingstown got the award for the Best Original Play.

The drama festival began on November 14 at the Peace Memorial Hall and saw a total of 15 secondary schools participating. (SB)
