As Tropical Storm Noel was one of the most devastating storms experienced by the country, items such as mattresses, food provisions, rice, peas, sugar, and salmon were distributed to the displaced Haitians by Digicel employees and the Haitian Foundation to support the Haitian relief agency FONDHACOT. Call credit was also given to the relief agency to help keep in touch with agents working in communities most affected.

“On behalf of the FONHDACOT and the hundreds of families who will be assisted, we are grateful for this gesture from Digicel. This aid will give these families a high level of comfort in a distressing time”, said E. Suzy J President of FONHDACOT.

According to Digicel Group CEO Colm Delves, “Digicel has a firm commitment to the Haitian people and we stand ready to help our customers in times of need. Haitians are very resilient people and we are confident that with our help and that of others, the Haitian people will overcome this situation.”
