SVG Government gets 36 computers from Taiwan


The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines now has 36 new computers, compliments the Government of Taiwan.{{more}}

On November 1, Ambassador Jack Cheng handed over the computers and related accessories to Minister of Foreign Affairs Sir Louis Straker who accepted the equipment on behalf of the government.

The equipment, valued at EC$162,000, includes 30 desktop computers, 30 17” LCD monitors, six laptops, 30 printers and ink cartridges, 15 memory sticks, and 15 pairs of speakers.

According to a release from the Taiwanese Embassy, “The computers and laptops are made by the top computer brand, ACER, Taiwan’s best computer company. ACER is the 4th largest computer brand in the world and is the most popular brand in Asia”.

The handing-over is an annual project which has been executed since 1996. According to the embassy, the intention is to assist government ministries to improve their services to the public.
