She achieved a place at Cambridge University to read Engineering. This builds upon her success of two years ago when Natasha obtained 11 A stars and 1 A in the 12 subjects that she sat in GCSEs.

According to leader of the SVG Green Party, Ivan O’Neal, his party believes that these types of results can be gained by most children in SVG if they were given the right opportunities.

“The ULP regime’s education strategy is failing young people and not providing the correct opportunities for the most needy – the poor. The whole structure of the ULP regime’s education strategy for children aged 3 to 18 is flawed. It lacks foundation, lacks a motivational environment, lacks appropriate support mechanisms and most seriously is not blended in with the SVG economy. This is illustrated by the fact that the education results show that only the children of the middle and upper classes are achieving. The children of the poor are being left behind. This is unacceptable in any civilized society, “ a release from the Green Party said.
