Students at the Bishop’s College Kingstown are urged to become members of the Interact Club at their school, as they will have “serious fun” and will meet new friends.

Addressing the launching of the Interact Club on Friday at the school’s assembly, president of the Rotary Club of St. Vincent Andre Cadogan, told the students that he will be looking forward for more students to become members of the group despite the fact that there are already some students in the group.{{more}}

Cadogan also called on the teachers to support the students while they are doing their projects.

The Bishop’s College Kingstown is the first school in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to launch an Interact Club. The club, which is sponsored by the Rotary Club seeks to target secondary school children between the ages of 14 and 18 that enjoy doing service projects while making new friends. Cadogan further added that they could have serious fun as they develop their social and community skills.

Senior Education Officer for secondary schools Muriel Fraser also urged the students to join the club, as education is about “training and teaching the students how to think.”

The teachers were also called upon to assist the students wherever they could while they were doing their projects and to be a strong support for them.

There are over 11,000 Interact Clubs in over 120 countries that seek to fulfill the Rotary International Motto, “Service Above Self.”
