He also announced that they would be expanding this service to commercial businesses and that they were assiduously ensuring that other programmes to speed up efficiency would be implemented.

Information Technology Manager, Wendell Davis in his demonstration of the Online Internet Banking system pointed out that there still remains a great level of fear by potential clients because they believe that this was not the most secure method of banking.

The technical chief however assured the public that with the use of improved technology and with their small but capable staff, NCB would be able to crack down on fraud and theft.

Davis stressed that no longer did a person living overseas had to rely on a friend or relative to pay their utility bills, but that they could do it themselves with just one click of the button from their computer.

He also pointed out that the website was user friendly and filled with information on the bank and the country so that persons from around the world could learn more.

Also describing the event as historic and stressing the need to get people in touch with the progress of technology were Minister of Technology Dr Jerrol Thompson and Chairman of NCB Desmond Morgan.

Once NCB customers have signed up for the Online Internet Banking service they could pay their bills at K-Electric (Karib Kable), Vinlec, CWSA, Courts St.Vincent LTD, Digicel and Cable & Wireless.
