Sir Louis to quit politics

Whenever the next general elections are called, there would be a new representative for Central Leeward. Present Parliamentarian Sir Louis Straker has announced his intention to quit. But he has made it clear that “I am going out with a bang!”

He was speaking last week Friday in the central Leeward town of Barrouallie.{{more}}

Work on St. Vincent and the Grenadines Taiwan Learning Resource Centre is into its second month.

Sir Louis was buoyant about the erection of that structure.

The Learning Resource Centre is being built in Barrouallie by the Transport and Works Ministry.

Sir Louis noted that the Barrouallie Secondary School and two Primary institutions were in the vicinity and boasted that the Barrouallie facility was the second Learning Resource Centre for Central Leeward.

Students will not be the only ones benefiting from the facility however. According to Transport and Works Minister Clayton Burgin, a patio would be erected on the top floor, which according to him would be for “senior citizens to relax.”

The venture is expected to cost $800,000 and is slated for completion in eight months.
