Chevonne has a technical approach

Chevone Laborde was overwhelmed with a feeling of sadness last Wednesday. This may have stemmed from the reality of the dawning of a new era.

Chevonne, daughter of Ivor and Mable Laborde of Petit Bordel, is the Student of the year for the Troumaca Ontario Secondary School.{{more}}

The institution held its Graduation ceremony at the Spring Village Methodist Church.

Chevonne joined a list of persons to have distinguished themselves at that institution. She was also Most Outstanding at Business Studies.

If things go her way, she would be at the Community College next September. And that again would be another transient stage on her way to University.

Chevonne has her eyes on a career as a Technician.

She advises others to “Trust God, work hard and believe in yourself.”

She also gave the Valedictorian speech, and having represented the School in the last Public Speaking competition, it was a re-run for her.

Also on the awards list was Terrie Johnson, Most Outstanding at Technical and Vocational Studies.

Sports Personality awards went to Daneve Mason who made it to the national Under 23 netball team and Kyeron Matthews a 16-year-old footballer.
