New York Vincy gives books to Troumaca
The Staff and Students of the Troumaca Government School, as well as learners involved in the Literacy programme are now better equipped with reading materials. Thanks to Annora Ashton Cadogan, a past student and teacher who now resides in Brooklyn, New York.
A relative of Cadogan, Staff nurse Julia Haywood handed over the two barrels of books to principal Deanah Haywood.
Haywood expressed thanks on behalf of the school and said the books will certainly enhance the literacy and numeracy programmes at the school.
She also said other past students had made similar donations in the past and she expressed the hope that the trend will continue because the development of a community depends to a large extent on the education of its people.
