The eloquent Hutchinson noted that no longer is the tourist looking for just sun, sea and sand but they were also looking for sport, and her tourism department understands this.

She noted that the golf tournament, which will feature world renowned golfers from December 6-10, would not only attract visitors, but also television viewers who would see what Barbados had to offer.

Noting the importance of sports to fitness and health, the tourism representative pointed out that other sporting activities such as rugby, horse races, cricket, walkathons and marathons were held annually and were major events on their calendar.

Besides sports, Hutchinson noted that Barbados was becoming the ideal place for the family with numerous attractions such as the Ocean Park, Wildlife Reserve and Harrison’s Cave that families could enjoy.

She also noted that the island of “Flying Fish and Coucou” had a fantastic nightlife for adults and could fit the economic bracket of the various tourists that visited the destination.

Those in attendance at the event also got the opportunity to win prizes of hotel accommodation, airline tickets and souvenirs at the event.
