Teenage mothers soon back in class

Share

If all goes well by the end of June a policy will be in place to have teenage mothers return to the school to pursue their education.

This was disclosed by Mike Browne, Minister of Social Development and National Mobilization. {{more}}

For a number of years several teens dropped out of the education system once they became pregnant but were often given a second chance by the late Sister Patricia-Ann Douglas, who gave them entrance to the St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua once they expressed a desire to continue their education.

The government is following her example.

Browne also disclosed that his ministry will be instituting a fathering programme which will foster the ties between fathers and their children.

Over 90 fathers will take part in the programme.
