Timothy Hazelwood has been a Policeman for the past 24 years.

Hazelwood is a Station Sergeant, based at the Questelles Police Station. But Hazelwood has been demonstrating a significant degree of ambition and creativity. He recently returned from a four-month training stint where he completed courses at a Police K-9 Training programme at the North State K-9 Academy of Tarheel K-9 Training Inc. Sandford, North Carolina. {{more}}

Hazelwood qualified as a Trainer in Police Patrol, Narcotics and Explosive Detection, Man trailing, Search and rescue and Pet Obedience.

Hazelwood, originally from the suburban district of Edinboro, just outside Capital City Kingstown, has been a conscientious Peace Officer.

He was granted study leave to fulfil his ambition, and expended some $26,000 of his personal finances to do the programme.

Hazelwood plans to do two more courses: in Decoy and Grooming. He has been fond of dogs for many years, and has transferred his love into a practical manifestation.

Besides his canine connection, Hazelwood has been one of the nation’s top football referees and has made his mark on local and regional circles.

There is no Canine Unit in the Vincentian Police Force, but that has not been a deterrent to Hazelwood. He soldiers on with his devotion to dogs and is optimistic that his foresight will pay him dividends in the long term.
