Following this ceremony, Ambassador Rose took the salute of honour as the Presidential Palace band played the strains of the National Anthem of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Rose later deposited a floral arrangement created in the colours of his country at the bust of the National Hero of Cuba Jose Marti, located in Revolution Square, close to the Palace of the President.

The Ambassador, who is finalizing the setting up of the first Embassy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Cuba, said he is looking forward to commemorating the 26th Anniversary of his country´s independence from Britain with Vincentian students based throughout the vast Cuban landscape.

That function is to be held this year in Havana and the Ambassador is expected to speak and to deliver a message to the Vincentian student body on behalf of Minister of Education Clayton Burgin.
