Thousands of school uniforms of varying colours flooded the Grammar School Playing field last Friday as the government held a rally in celebration of the attainment of Universal Access to Secondary Education. {{more}}

The rally was centered around showcasing the talents of youngsters and handing over cheques to top schools and students.

Among recepients of cheques was Calicia Charles, top performer at this year’s CXC examination, who obtained eleven subjects. So was Troy Eustace, the top male performer, who also gained eleven passes.

The rally also featured a cultural component and the students went into pandemonium when M.C. Colin Graham, introduced The La Gracia dancers who performed a breathtaking piece. There were also dance items from Avenue Dancers among others.

Minister of Education, Clayton Burgin also received a student’s handbook from Elizabeth Chu. Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan before Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves presented the cheques to the students and schools.
