On the other hand, Daniel Cummings , NDP candidate for West Kingstown, taking note that the symbol of the Unity Labour Party was the star and its colour red, predicted that Red Stars would be falling from the ULP party come election day.

As he addressed the rally, Cummings said the ULP has hardly done anything for water in the Grenadines and called on the voters to put back the NDP into office to have proper, efficient water supply in that part of the country.{{more}}

Cummings, who was, for two decades the general manager of the Central Water and Sewerage Authority before announcing his entry into politics, also described the assassination announcment made by Dr. Gonsalves as similar to what happened in Grenada with Maurice Bishop. He called on the Prime Minister to look closer to the people in his party when he feels his life is threatened.

Cummings asked, “Do you remember our Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves saying that he wants to be Maurice Bishop? He said so right? You know that is true, if Dr. Gonsalves is Maurice Bishop, Julian Francis is Bernard Coard. So when they talk about who killing who, we know what they are talking about.”

Also addressing the rally under Bequia’s famed Almond Tree Saturday night, NDP representative for the Southern Grenadines, Terrance Ollivierre said that under the leadership of Sir James, the Grenadines was transformed into a paradise while the ULP has marginalised that part of the country.

Ollivierre said that since 2001, nothing has been done in the Grenadines and the people would give them nothing in return on election day. He said that Senator Edwin Snagg, the ULP’s candidate for the Southern Grenadines has preached too much divisiveness which has caused fear to speak freely about ones political preference.
