Opposition leader Arnhim Eustace has described the discussions between regional Leaders of the Opposition and Heads of Government of Caricom as useful. He said topics such as Caricom and the Caribbean Court of Justice were raised and that being given the opportunity to air and hear different views was insightful. {{more}}

Eustace noted that the Dominican Opposition Leader Edison James made the first statement on behalf of the opposition delegation and raised the issue of electoral reform. Eustace said that this was one of the concerns he had put forward, and which Edison was able to highlight.

He noted that for observers to be present earlier for elections was crucial and that point was noted at the meeting.

From that meeting, a committee made up of Heads of Opposition and Heads of Government are to meet “shortly” to decide how often they would congregate. A recommendation was also made to give opposition leaders important information earlier so that they could make a greater impact into many of the decision-making processes.

Eustace however expressed disappointment that the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves were absent from the meeting.
