Jamaican interns on visit to SVG

Four Jamaican interns have been garnering experience in St.Vincent and the Grenadines in the fields of Education, Social work and Public Relations.

They are Janet Davy, Ophelia Mattis, Igene Leslie and Kay-Anne Darlington. Davy, Mattis and Leslie have been in the state since June 1, while Darlington has been here since Sunday, June 19.{{more}}

According to Darlington,the interns have been actively involved with the Roving Care Givers Programme since their arrival.

The internship is organised by the Caribbean Internship Programme (CIP) a project of the Caribbean Support Initiative (CSI) and the Environmental Foundation based in Barbados. The CSI is funded by the Bernard Van Leer Foundation.

Darlington said the aim is to promote early childhood development through stimulation. The team has been visiting areas such as Sandy Bay, Barrouallie and Byera.

The PR intern said she is here to conduct awareness programmes as well as provide communication support for the three year Roving Care Givers (RCG) pilot project, and Regional Radio Programme (RRP).
