Police make cannabis, cocaine arrests

Persons engaged in the supply of cannabis are not getting any let up from this country’s security forces. Gary Glasgow, a 26-year-old labourer of Kingstown was arrested and charged for having 417 grammes of cannabis in Kingstown about 3 p.m. last week Thursday, March 24. {{more}}

Quintyn Hackshaw, 27, of South Rivers suffered a similar fate the following day March 25, that time at South Rivers. He had 665 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply to another at South Rivers Public Road at 12:20 p.m.

Then Cosmore Castello, a 41-year-old farmer of Simon was arrested and charged for having in his possession 32 grammes of cannabis. His apprehension came Sunday, March 27, at Simon.

The raid on the herb suppliers was not confined to mainland St. Vincent. Dwight Williams, a 33-year-old of Ashton Union became another prisoner. His incarceration came in Union Island Saturday, March 26. He had 158 grammes of cannabis.

It was not herb men alone under scrutiny. Godbert Richards, 37, of Long wall in capital city Kingstown was arrested and charged Saturday, March 26, for having in his possession five rocks, one gramme of cocaine at rose Place at 5 p.m.

The offenders were slated to appear at the Serious Crimes Court this week.
