Persons here have been encouraged to get into business, especially when they are young. The advice came from one with some experience in the field of business, and who perhaps has a perception as to the possibilities that exist for growth and expansion of enterprising ventures. {{more}}

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves shared his foresight last week Monday at the opening ceremony of the Enterprise Services and Information Hub.

This is an extension in the Small business reservoir. It is part of the Small Enterprise Development Unit’s thrust to ensure national progress.

Dr. Gonsalves boasted of his government’s support for Small businesses, and stressed the need for working with private and cooperative sectors.

With that climate for investment, encouraged, endorsed and supported by his regime, Dr. Gonsalves looked at business development as a “vital way of alleviating poverty.”

The opening ceremony also heard addresses from SEDU’s manager Felix Lewis, and chairperson of SEDU’s Steering Committee, and representative of the SVG Chamber of Industry and Commerce Martin Laborde.

Lewis for his part outlined the plans for getting the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme into the School.

Lewis welcomed the opening of the information Hub. He saw as a “milestone in the culture of entrepreneurship in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”
