All persons working in the Lyric Building located at White Chapel in Kingstown, which houses the courts on the upper floor and the China Town store, were asked to vacate their offices at around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday morning after a bomb threat.

A drug matter was being dealt with at the Serious Offences Court at the time of the incident.

Reports are that someone called China Town and said that a bomb was about to go off there. The building was evacuated sometime after and the area was cordoned off by police.

A number of curious persons gathered at the scene and a number of court matters were delayed. Police found no bomb and things soon went back to normal.

One lady commented that she knew that no bomb would be found.

There have been several bomb scares in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the past though none has yielded a bomb.

However in 2003, an explosive device was found planted in a motor vehicle owned by Vicky Rajani of Cane Garden. Three persons were charged in related matters.
