Hooper, son of Hugh Wyllie, placed sixth for boys and 13th overall in the recent Common Entrance Examination. He will attend the St. Vincent Grammar School. Caine was eighth for girls, 13th overall and Harry placed 25th for girls and 42nd overall; both will attend the Girls’ High School.
The new scholarship holders bring to 16 the number of persons benefiting from SVGTU educational assistance.
The bursaries will be for five years each with $300 given to each student for the first term and $100 in both the second and third terms.
In other SVGTU news, the Diamond Government School is this year’s recipient of assistance from the Canadian Federation of Teachers. Principal of that school Diana Cecelia Williams received the package of school supplies at a ceremony last week. The Diamond Government School has a student population of 190, with a staff of 13 teachers.
