The lass was very exceptional in Mathematics and General Paper copping 95 and 91 respectively. She also scored 89 per cent for English language to take her to the top of local rankings in the exams.
While Nayla, the daughter of Rhol and Sandra Pierre of Roseau, Sion Hill, is celebrating her feat she is adamant that she should have done better in the English subject area.
“Normally I will do well in English. The paper wasn’t difficult but the Composition was a bit challenging,” she said.
At the moment Nayla has no set career that she wants to pursue but her plan for the moment is just to pursue her secondary education at the Girls’ High School.
The news of her achievement was broken to her by a friend of her mother’s.
Nayla intimated she could not have made it without the support of her parents and brother Brenol -who is presently at university in the USA- as well as her teachers “Miss Bonadie, Miss Dougan, Miss Garraway, Miss McLean and Miss Owen”.
She used the opportunity to thank all her teachers who taught her from the infant’s level right up to Grade 6 ensuring her preparation for this level of success.
