Roy’s Inn has officially opened its doors.
This took place the evening of Sunday, May 9th, at a ceremony held at the hotel’s poolside.
For LeRoy Lewis, proprietor of the hotel located at Kingstown Park, this is a dream come true. Lewis said he and his staff hope to make Roy’s Inn (formerly known as Camelot) into a place where every Vincentian comes and enjoys all the facilities that the hotel has to offer.{{more}}
Anthony Phillips, a marketing consultant out of Trinidad and Tobago, endorsed the project and said he is optimistic that Roy’s Inn will become a five-star hotel.
“The sky is the limit,” said Phillips.
Present at the ceremony was Minister of Tourism and Culture Rene Baptiste. Baptiste said the opening of the hotel is a product of Lewis’ determination, perseverance and spirit.
Baptiste said she is confident that Lewis would make efforts to capture visitors who have never seen “the paradise” of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Janelle Allen, a contestant in the 2004 Miss SVG Pageant, will represent Roy’s Inn in the show. Allen said she was proud to be the first contestant to be sponsored by the hotel.
Allen stated that Roy’s Inn provides nothing but the best, and Vincentians can be rest assured that they will receive a full package at the Miss SVG Pageant. Her fellow contestants accompanied Allen at the opening.
Providing entertainment at the reception were calypsonians Ras Commander and Dexter Parson of Trinidad and Tobago, and students of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School.
