Let’s all be more patriotic and better nation builders

As our nation celebrates its 32nd year of Independence from the United Kingdom, it is important for us to continue to contribute to its development. In order to do so, we must be loyal to the state and ourselves, cooperate positively with others, and allow society to be functional.{{more}}
When the National Anthem is being rendered, let us stand smartly to attention and exhibit a tremendous sense of pride, rather than reacting as if nothing of importance is happening.
When visitors come to our shores or we travel overseas, we must not make negative statements about our beautiful St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which would only seek to do harm, but be objective. I am very sure there are similarities and differences, strengths and weaknesses in every national on this earth.
Obey Laws, respect Institutions of the state and persons in authority. This is necessary to ensure that structures are in place so that order is maintained to facilitate the growth of our nation.
Individuals need to understand/remember their roles and be more responsible. Our input/contribution may either assist in the development or retardation of our nation. As a result, there is a continuing need for us to continue to be creative to ensure the prosperity of our beloved St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
There is a need also for us to be better team players. We must cooperate more positively with each other for our state to function collectively.
In a small society such as ours, we must interact and converse respectfully, even in times of challenges and disputes. When this fails, individuals become tempered and resort to other means of settling their differences. If we become self-centred and ignore others, not only will there be deficiencies in our socialization, but our Nation will be deprived of our collective contribution. We must endeavour to ensure that the state benefits from our action if we want to see it develop positively.
In short, let us all be more patriotic and better nation builders. Let us celebrate the 32nd Anniversary of our nation with pride. St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we salute you!
