OSCO presents ‘The Runway Meets the Real Fetters’

Preparations for Vincy Mas in the Nõrth Windward community of Owia are heating up, with the unveiling of costumes for the 2014 Carnival season.{{more}}

Over the weekend, outfits for the Owia Sports and Cultural Organization’s (OSCO) Carnival fashion show were on display, during a photo shoot at the Owia Fisheries Complex.

Nine costumes, designed and built by Shaffiquer Nanton and Fayann Pollard are expected to be a part of the May 30 show at the Owia Government School, entitled “The Runway Meets the Real Fetters.”

Apart from the fashion show, the costumes would also be paraded during the community’s Mardi Gras/Street Party festival on May 31. The top three costumes will be selected from those receiving the most “likes” on the group’s Facebook page (Owia Sports and Cultural Organization OSCO).

The costumes are entitled Emulsion, Bittersweet, Radiant, Lineal, Down to Earth, Rogue, Purity, Elite and Mystic Topaz.

The carnival activities will come to an end the following day, June 1, with a river lime cool down at the Owia river.

The OSCO carnival activities are sponsored by LIME and the St Vincent Brewery.
