Caribbean’s top female DJ to perform in SVG

Not many persons think of Spring when they think of SVG. However, a group of forward-thinking individuals have come together to bring to SVG what many other persons in Jamaica, as well as Cancun and Florida have already experienced: Guinness Digicel4G Spring Bling weekend.{{more}}

The event, which takes place April 4th-6th at Private Mt Wynne, will feature an array of activities including the ‘Daydream Beach Trip’ on Saturday, April 5th. Premium Entertainment Network & Face Caribbean, the organizers of the event, say the Saturday event is specifically designed for the younger lively patrons; the intention being to create a huge beach picnic with a wide range of beach activities throughout the day. This event commences in the morning, with patrons assembling at the Peace Memorial Hall, where transportation will be provided by the most popular minivans from various communities. Upon arrival at Mt. Wynne, persons will be involved in an all-day beach jam experience. On the other hand, Sunday 6th, which is hailed as the main event, will feature competitive beach sports, including cricket, women and men beach volley ball, pairs dominoes and small goal (five-a-side) soccer.

Organisers of the beach party weekend added that a Spring Bling weekend wouldn’t be complete without fashion and entertainment on Sunday 6th; hence the inclusion of the ‘RIP the runway Fashion Walk,’ where swimsuit/beach wear designers, including Pinky, will showcase their designs. In addition to the performances by local artistes such as Royale and Prez, as well the presence of local dee jays, Vincentians will for the 1st time be treated to the Caribbean’s number one female DJ, Alicia D Duchess from Trinidad & Tobago; Organisers emphasized that the decision to have D Duchess on the cast was, among other things, to showcase an experienced talented professional who was extremely successful in a male dominated area. D Duchess, who has performed in other destinations including Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, London, Miami, Orlando, Washington and New York, has a style that is described as unique and a performance that is said to be versatile and flawless.

The weekend is gaining significant momentum, with big brands such as Guinness and Digicel supporting the event. A spokesperson for the event stated that patrons can expect the unexpected, including arcade games and pool tables on the beach, as well as a custom built VIP area with top shelf drinks.
