Chelsea Burke is 2013 Miss So Good queen

Chelsea Burke, an employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken Number One (KFC Downtown) is the company’s 2013 Miss So Good queen, taking the crown last Sunday at the pageant held at Arnos Vale.{{more}}

The Super J/KFC/ Pizza Hut car park was transformed into a temporary CAT WALK, as spectators turned out in their numbers to witness the pageant, which is in its second year.

The company also announced the winner of the So Good Community Challenge, which took place over the past three months.

Burke was given the nod over five other contestants, each representing an aspect of the of the KFC standard: Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality and Speed of Service (CHAMPS).

Representing Hospitality, Burke was adjudged the winner by judges Mira Commissiong, Annette Francois and Shevorn Stewart, in three of the five judged categories: Best Introduction, Best Talent and Best Costume, to take the title.

Casita Gibson, representing KFC number three (Arnos Vale) and portraying Accuracy, took the best Sports Wear category, while KFC Office representative and Speed of Service representative Sherma Bobb won Best Interview.

Bobb’s all round performance during the pageant, earned her the First Runner-up title, while another all round performance from KFC number two (Uptown) representative Anesia Wiseman, portraying Product Quality, was judged second runner-up.

The other contestants were Stephanie Williams representing Pizza Hut and portraying Cleanliness, and Sharon Ince, representing KFC Depot, portraying Maintenance.

Sunday’s pageant proved to be entertaining for the spectators and patrons who turned out to witness the event.

The gathering was entertained by dance routines from the Avenues Dancers, as well as members of staff, including company manager Shanda Boyea.

KFC ambassador and spokesperson Skarpyon, the national calypso monarch, also provided entertainment. (JJ)
