With early selection, nine months of training and preparation and launching on March 5, Rodriguez told the media during a CDC press conference on Tuesday that the contestants’ programme of activities was spread over almost three months.

“This gave the contestants the opportunity to meet and greet members of the public all over SVG, an activity which they thoroughly enjoyed and which met the approval of their many fans and supporters,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez also noted that the contestants have demonstrated to the committee and themselves determination, persistence and hard work, which, according to her, “are the foundation of success.”

“Their goal was to participate in MISS SVG 2013 and I am certain they enjoyed the experience by tapping in on their creative abilities, and as optimists, they found opportunity in every difficulty.

“They dreamt, they explored and discovered the strengths that lie within them, and that the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra,” she added.

“I trust that you will always remember what you have learnt and help to change someone’s life in a positive way.

“Above all, maintain your regal status,” Rodriguez told the contestants.

With 24 hours left before the staging of the much anticipated MISS SVG 2013 pageant, Rodriguez stated that the contestants, chaperones and committee members are all ready for the big stage.

The contestants made an appearance at their final press conference on Tuesday.

On Wednesday they visited Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves and members of Cabinet.

A confident Rodriguez said that patrons can expect a professionally executed production, high standard performances from all contestants.

“We are looking forward to seeing all our fans and supporters at the Victoria Park. Treat yourself and that special someone in your life to an evening of classy entertainment and fun…”

Vying for the crown tomorrow night at Victoria Park are Shannon Bess, Ann Therese Chambers, Marresa Endeavour, Shara George, Chenead Hackshaw, Hannah Hamilton, Anna La Borde and Brooke Legair. (AA)
