She received her prize at a ceremony at Voices of Praise International on 1011 Utica Ave, Brooklyn, New York, on September 9.

Glasgow prize package includes an all-expense paid trip to Nevada, where she will represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Talent Quest national karaoke singing contest, from September 17 to 23.

As a contestant at the national, she will share in a US$25,000 cash prize, as well as the opportunities for a recording contract where Lamon Records, Nashville, will be scouting for new artistes, a statement said.

Caribbean Karaoke Fans Network of New York is led by Vincentian Arden C. Tannis, the director of Talent Quest Caribbean. The organisation, whose tag line is “Karaoke is fun and much more”, aims to take karaoke beyond the bars and clubs to churches, communities and villages, providing opportunities for people of Caribbean heritage in the diaspora and at home to meet, have fun, develop talent, self and their homeland.
