Bentick was born on February 24, 1993 and raised in the rural community of Sandy Bay by her grandmother Elsie Laborde (now deceased) and her aunt Mavis Laborde.

She attended the North Union Secondary School where she attained seven O’Levels.

Her educational journey continued at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Division of Technical and Vocational Education, where she enrolled in the field of Business Administration.

Jolene views herself as humble, loyal, friendly and self-motivated. She believes that everything is achievable once you put your mind to it.

With no previous experience in beauty pageants, she believes that capturing the Miss SVG 2012 title would not only contribute to her personal development, but would inspire other young ladies with similar backgrounds and commitment to achieve things once thought beyond their reach or status.

She has a passion for calypso music and has participated in several junior calypso shows while attending secondary school, placing third in the South Rivers calypso competition in 2011.
