SVGCA to launch 2012 Calypso Season April 13

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Calypso Association Inc. (SVGCA Inc.) will be launching the 2012 Calypso Season with a show at Heritage Square Kingstown on Friday, April 13, 2012.{{more}}

The show, which will feature at least three calypsonians from each Calypso Tent, an Ex-Tempo/Picong Clash, Steelband music, displays by Mas Bands, as well as several Soca Artistes, is scheduled to run from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

This event is part of the SVG Calypso Association’s drive to encourage Calypsonians and Soca Artistes to produce and release their Calypsoes and Soca Tunes early to ensure a steady build up to Vincy Mas 2012.

A release from the SVGCA Inc. encourages the public to support the event and “come out and enjoy some exciting performances by our cultural artistes as we strive to further develop the Calypso/Soca art form in St Vincent and the Grenadines.”
