The first batch of students given the opportunity to showcase their varied talents were drawn from the St Joseph Convent Mariaqua, Thomas Saunders Secondary, Georgetown Secondary and North Union Secondary School. Over the course of the next couple weeks, they will join over 150 students from 24 secondary schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines to vie for cash prizes of up to $4,000 in some of the talent categories.

Auditions are held every Thursday from 3:30pm until 5:30pm and on Saturdays from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm from which 50 students will be chosen to qualify for the 2nd round of the competition.

Although the auditions are open to students only, highlights will be seen on IK TV every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 6:30 pm. During the programme, students and the general public will be invited to text to vote for their favorite contestant to help them to move onto the next round of the competition. Texting will form 20 per cent of the total points awarded.

Organiser of the event Skinny Fabulous expressed satisfaction with the tremendous response which the venture has received. Speaking about the competition, he says: “The response has been overwhelming. The students are excited, the sponsors have been very receptive to this venture and the teachers and parents have been supportive of the students. I’m looking forward to finding the next big thing!”

Students from Georgetown, North Union and Adelphi Secondary Schools will appear before the judges on Saturday, March 3 at Club 28.
