And who can blame her?

Browne’s fashion line was a hit at the recently concluded Mije “Fashion is my Passion” show at the Peace Memorial Hall.

In an interview with the elated lass after the show on Sunday, she told SEARCHLIGHT that she discovered her love for fashion at the age of seven.

“I used to be drawing a lot of stuff and they figured out that I just had a passion for fashion,” she smiled, as several persons came to hug and congratulate her on a job well done.

The student of the St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown said she spent a lot of time sketching cartoon characters, Disney Princesses and clothing designs.

In 2009, at the age of nine, Browne, then a student of the Petersville Primary School, got the chance to make one of her designs come to life at the Miss Petersville Pageant.

“That is when I had my first design. I placed first runner-up and I was just happy that I got to wear the dress that I designed,” she beamed.

She pointed out that she was “extremely happy” to see other people wearing clothing that she designed.

With her mind already made up about her career choice, Browne said she looks forward to doing more creative designs soon.

Mother Auldine Browne, seemingly more elated than her daughter, told SEARCHLIGHT that she is happy that her daughter has a bright future ahead of her.

“I’m very proud of her and I know she is going to do well with more shows like this,” Auldine said.

Browne’s main objective is to create designs that are different and envisioned by all through her eyes. Swag is also geared towards appealing to the young and the young at heart.(KW)
