DJ Shatta Nines wins Heineken Green Synergy DJ clash

DJ Shatta Nines won the first leg of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Clash, held at the Bayview Car Park on Saturday, August 6.{{more}}

Three DJ’s contested the first leg: DJ Smurf, DJ Teddy, and DJ Shatta Nines.

Witnessed by a very enthusiastic crowd, DJ Teddy and DJ Shatta Nines outperformed their rival to advance to the clash round of the night’s competition. In a heated battle, DJ Shatta Nines narrowly outperformed DJ Teddy to earn himself a place in the Heineken Green Synergy Finals.

“Big up everybody that came out to support me, large up my fans and the Bayview Car Park massive,” said DJ Shatta Nines, a.k.a. Richie Weekes of Prospect. “I feel good for winning a place in the Finals of the competition; I am looking forward to winning it.”

“The Heineken Green Synergy Competition has been mixing different beats throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as the greater Caribbean Region, for numerous years,” said Dominic Brisbane, Heineken Brand Manager at St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. “The far-reaching impact of this competition provides the perfect platform for young upcoming DJ’s to showcase their skills and get the exposure needed to build their professional careers.”

DJ Shatta Nines will now progress to the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy to face last year’s champion DJ Multivator. The winner of the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition will receive a grand prize of XCD $5000, as well as the opportunity to travel to St. Lucia to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Regional Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy.
